A number of ancient objects were found by residents of Nganjuk Regency. The ancient objects that are thought to be relics of the Majapahit era are in the form of hundreds of coins and royal house furniture.
The object was found by a traditional sand digger on the banks of the Brantas River, Banjarsari Village, Ngronggot District, Nganjuk Regency.
These ancient objects were first discovered by Heru Muslimin and his fellow traditional sand miners some time ago. This discovery was not once, but gradually over several days.
According to Heru, when he and his friend were digging the sand, the hoe suddenly hit a hard object. After checking, it turned out that the object was a cormorant. When they were dug deeper, an antique stove and jug were also found nearby.
“Surprisingly, inside the pot, it turns out that it contains coins mixed with sand. We knew that after we lifted his cormorant, "said Heru when met at his house.
The ancient objects found on the banks of the Brantas River were finally collected at Heru's house. "We keep everything. Until now it is still intact, "he continued, showing his belongings.
These include a copper pot, a clay stove, an antique clay jug, thousands of coins with holes written in Chinese characters. As well as some lead fractions.
Knowing that the items he found had historical value, Heru reported to the Nganjuk Youth Sports and Culture Tourism Office (Disparporabud).
Head of Section for Museum History and Antiquities at the Nganjuk Disparporabud, Amin Fuadi, when checking the findings of ancient objects to ensure that these objects are entered into cultural heritage that must be protected and saved.
